Project Qadr

In April 2015, FI'SABIL'ILLAH UK became aware of a young Imam from Sri Lanka who had the dream of performing Umrah.  Sri Lankan Muslims had seen a heightened level of discrimination from local Bhuddists and to fund the Imam's journey to perform Umrah was seen as a means to help reinforce faith in the community.

The Imam that made the trip to perform Umrah was Mohamed Thajudeen Mohamed Mufaris.

Mohamed was born in Silavathurai, Mannar in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.

Mohamed had his childhood education in a Muslim school in Puttalam.  Mohamed later joined Al-Razad Arabic College in Colombo, Sri Lanka and completed his Islamic Studies becoming an Alim.

Mohamed is married with one child.  Mohamed has two sisters and two brothers.

Mohamed has been the main Imam of the Masjid in Madampe for the last five years.  Mohamed is a teacher of Hadeeth Studies and Quran recitation.  Mohamed works in the field of Dawah in Sri Lanka and India and has written two books on Islam.  Mohamed has been conducting the Taraweeh prayer in Ramadan for the past ten years.

Mohamed performed the Umrah in April 2015 with all costs covered by FI'SABIL'ILLAH UK.
